History
The legend sais that from all those whom tried their powers against the dragon, only the outlaw Halauceanu managed to defeat it. As reward he received liberty on this land.
Between 1532-1537, Petru Rares built on the Moldovita Valley, in Vatra Moldovitei, a beautiful church - a historical and art monument.
Petru Voda also passed through Campulung Moldovenesc in 1541: “they came back from Bistrita, and without a second thought they passed the mountain and arrived in the Long Field” - Grigore Ureche
