History

The initial name of the commune was Dorna, but after the new administrative arrangement in 1968 the name was changed to Dorna-Arini. The actual territory of the commune, long time ago was part of Ocolul Câmpulungului. This part was not submissive to the noblemen and enjoyed the privileges guarantied by the king. In 1775, together with the occupation of Bucovina by the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the border is being established on the river Bistrita, right on the territory of the present commune.
